How it works

One scan. One tap. One unlock.

Three steps for the guest. Nothing to install. Nothing to download.

  1. 01

    Scan

Guest scans a sticker on the sauna, locker, or door. The browser opens to a checkout page — no app, no account.

  2. 02

    Pay

Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay in one tap. Stripe handles the payment. You keep 95%, QROpen takes 5%.

  3. 03

    Unlock

The device turns on within seconds — relay flips, door PIN appears, or smart lock unlocks. The guest gets a receipt.

Why hosts care

Concrete numbers, not adjectives.

  • $100+per amenity / month

Revenue from what used to be free

Pilot target from the QROpen 2026 roadmap. One sauna, one laundry machine, one party room — each can clear three figures a month at typical guest pricing.

  • <2 minscan to unlock

    Guests don't bounce

No app install means no Play Store detour. Median scan-to-pay-to-unlock is under two minutes — fast enough that the guest doesn't reconsider.

  • $0monthly fee

You only pay when guests pay you

No subscription, no per-device charge, no minimum transaction volume. Our fee is a small flat percentage of what guests actually pay — same math whether you do ten transactions a month or a thousand.

  • 0integrators required

    Self-install in an afternoon

Commodity Shelly relays for power-driven amenities and Igloohome PIN locks for doors. You wire one device, you stick on one QR poster, you go live.

What could your amenities earn?

Three inputs. Adjust them to your property. The platform fee comes from the same source the billing code uses.

Saunas, laundry machines, lockers, doors.

CAD, pre-tax. C$3 minimum.

A sauna with one paid session a day clears 30.

Stripe fees are typical for Canadian domestic cards; cross-border and Amex transactions cost more. Sales tax is added on top of guest payments by Stripe Tax and does not affect the split.

FAQ

Plain answers to the questions hosts ask.

  • Do my guests need an app?

No. Guests scan the QR sticker, the browser opens, they pay with card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, and the device turns on. There is nothing to install.

  • What hardware do I need to buy?

For power-driven amenities (sauna, laundry, console, smart outlet) you wire a Shelly Plus 1 relay — about C$40 retail. For doors and lockers you use an Igloohome PIN lock. If you already own a compatible smart lock (August, Yale, Schlage, SALTO KS), we can route through it instead.

  • How do I get paid?

Through Stripe Connect Express. You onboard in about ten minutes, payouts land in your bank account on the standard Stripe schedule. QROpen takes a flat 3% of each transaction; the rest is yours.

  • What if my Wi-Fi drops?

For relay-controlled amenities the device needs network at unlock time — if it's offline, the guest is refunded automatically and you're notified. For doors we use Igloohome's offline algoPIN, which means the lock itself never needs Wi-Fi.

  • Is it secure?

QR codes resolve to short-lived signed tokens, payments go through Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1), and your guest data lives in a Canadian Supabase region for PIPEDA compliance. The unlock signal only fires after a successful payment confirmation.

  • Can I set my own prices?

Yes. Per device, with a C$3 minimum per transaction. You can also run different prices at different times of day once that lands in Q3 2026.

  • Are there any monthly fees?

No. The flat 3% per-transaction fee is the only charge. No subscription, no per-device fee, no minimum transaction volume.
