We dropped our platform fee from 5% to 3%
Quiet pricing change worth surfacing: our platform fee is now 3% on all guest transactions. Same flat structure, no monthly, no per-device charges.
Effective immediately, QROpen's platform fee drops from 5% to 3% of each successful guest transaction. That's a single change, applied uniformly across all transactions. Stripe processing (2.9% + $0.30 per charge) is the only other fee, and it's the same for everyone.
Why
Honest answer: 5% was a defensible starting point but it wasn't a moat. Plenty of adjacent tools charge in a similar range or higher once you stack their per-transaction add-ons. We weren't actually winning on price — we were winning on the fact that guests don't need an app and that an operator can get a device live in an afternoon. 3% removes price as a reason to look elsewhere.
What's the same
- No monthly subscription
- No per-device fee
- No minimum transaction volume
- Payouts on Stripe's standard schedule (~2 business days)
On a $25 transaction the difference between 5% and 3% is about $0.50. Across 50 transactions that's $25 back to the host. Across a year of regular use, real money.
